Minutes of IG Meeting of March 3, 2012, were emailed & reviewed and were approved.

 

Abridged Notes:

  • Region 2 March’s Assembly was a success: 40 reps and 35 local people attended.  Brenda, the Mexican Rep that our Intergroup financially sponsored was well taken care of by our local people.
  • Since the Intergroup’s web site is able to be up-dated throughout the month, please check it for meeting changes/information:  www.oamidpeninsula.org
  • April WSO Conference will be voting on new/improved literature, e.g. on-line readings connected to daily reader, Voices of Recovery, along with the WSO Proposals for this conference.
  • June 9th’s Day in OA, (10 a.m.-4 p.m.) Body Image and Sexuality, Open Door Church, 4150 Picadilly Lane, San Mateo
  • Elections in October for Intergroup, including two Region 2 reps (1 pre-requisite is to attend 3 intergroup meetings)

 

Monthly Reports

Standing Committee Reports:

 

  • Chair (Trish): no report
  • Vice Chair (Laura): no report
  • Region 2 Board (Shari):  40 reps and 35 local people attended.  Brenda, the Mexican Rep that our Intergroup financially sponsored was well taken care of by our local people.
  • WSBC (Katie G):  April WSO Conference will voting on new/improved literature, e.g. on-line readings connected to daily reader, Voices of Recovery
  • Treasurer (Terri): will be attached to these notes
  • Mail (Betty):  no report
  • R2 Reps (Joann, Trish, & Jaye):  their reports will be sent out attached to these notes and the treasurer’s report.

Joanne: Well organized assembly and lots of helpful information, e.g.: sales tax should be added when selling literature.

Laura: Ask-It basket had many interesting questions, such as the traditions and HOW OA and 90-day OA.  These focus groups are not breaking traditions.

Jaye: Technology and Social Networking are media-challenges for anonymity.  Fall Assembly will be in Burlingame again.  Region 2 board members wrote articles for the latest R2 newsletter.

  • Newsletter (Susan): no recent changes.
  • Webmaster (Leslie/Lynne): some descrepancies between newsletter because it most up to date.  It was suggested that a link be set up to Region 2 site too.
  • Local PI (JoAnn): no report
  • Telephone (Katie G): no report
  • Activities (Katie H): Day in OA – Flyer attached to minutes – Flyers distributed at IG

New Business: some discussion regarding what to do if individual members cannot afford literature

Next month agenda items: sales taxes payment from literature sales
